Renee Albrecht is a dedicated professional in environmental policy advocacy with extensive experience in various roles related to conservation and land management. Currently serving as the Senior Policy Advocate for Food and Freshwater at the World Wildlife Fund since May 2022, Renee previously worked as a Private Lands Policy Analyst at Defenders of Wildlife and as a Protected Area Downgrading, Downsizing, and Degazettement Intern at Conservation International. Early career experiences include positions with General Dynamics Information Technology as an Analyst and Associate Analyst supporting the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, as well as outreach coordination at Living Classrooms of the National Capital Region. Renee's internships with the U.S. Geological Survey and the Bloomington Urban Woodlands Project provided foundational expertise in conservation efforts. Educationally, Renee earned a Master of Environmental Science and Management from the Bren School at the University of California, Santa Barbara, specializing in Conservation Planning, and a Bachelor of Science in Music and Biology from Indiana University Bloomington.
