Adnan Bin Hussain

Dato’ Adnan bin Hussain is the twelfth director general of the Department of Fisheries (DoF), Malaysia. He assumes the post as the twelfth director general effective 10 March 2023, replacing Dato’ Haji Mohd Sufian bin Sulaiman who has since retired.

As the DoF director general in Malaysia, Dato’ Adnan will also sit on the WorldFish Board of Trustees.

Dato' Adnan has extensive experience in the field of fisheries and marine resources having served the DoF in several positions over the past three decades.

Prior to his appointment as the director general, he was the senior director of the Fisheries Biosecurity and Conservation and Protection divisions.
