Brett McConkey has extensive work experience in various leadership roles. Brett started their career as a teacher at Black Gold Schools from 1989 to 1996. Brett then worked as a Director of Technology at the University of Alberta from 1999 to 2001. After that, they joined QC Data as an Operations Support Manager from 2001 to 2004.

From 2004 to 2005, McConkey worked at Hottbutton Solutions Inc as the COO and Executive VP. Their responsibilities included implementing strategic goals, managing day-to-day operations, overseeing budgets and forecasts, developing sales and marketing plans, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Next, they joined the Canadian Cattle Identification Agency as the COO from 2005 to 2008. During this time, they provided operational leadership, identified opportunities for growth, coached the team, and managed program budgets.

Brett later served as the CTO and then the CPO, leading the technical and business capabilities of the company's product management department.
