Sehwan Kim has extensive experience in software engineering and research. From 1998 to 2006, they were a Graduate Student Researcher and Research Assistant at GIST (Gwangju Institute of Science & Technology) where they investigated image retrieval algorithms, face detection and facial feature extraction algorithms, and developed various image/video coding algorithms. From 2006 to 2008, they worked as a Software Engineer at Mayachitra, Inc. where they analyzed image feature descriptors and developed Advanced Image Pair Registration software. From 2009 to 2010, they were a Junior Specialist at Computer Science, UCSB where they acquired surround-view panoramas and presented a methodology for camera orientation relocalization. From 2010 to present, they have been a Research Software Engineer at WorldViz where they have developed a VR communication platform, Vizible, and algorithms for estimating the pose of WorldViz PPT.

Sehwan Kim has an extensive educational background. Sehwan completed their Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Computer Vision from the Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology in 2006. In 2001, they attended the University of California, Berkeley for a Summer Session in Computer Science. Sehwan obtained their Master of Science - MS in Image Processing from the Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology in 2000. Lastly, they earned their Bachelor of Science - BS in Electronic Engineering from the University of Seoul in 1998.
