Dan Smee

Dan Smee has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries. Dan began their career as a Truck Driver and Team Lead at FedEx in 1987 and continued working there until 1998. From 1999 to 2001, Dan worked as a Supervisor at LAX Airport. In 2002, they joined the California National Guard/U.S. Army Guard as a Med NCO, and in 2004, they served as a Combat Medic during the Iraqi Freedom Combat tour, where they administered life support to sick and injured soldiers and provided training to local nationals and Iraq Security forces in basic first aid techniques. Dan then transitioned to the U.S. Army, serving as a Combat Medic and Medical Non-Commissioned Officer from 2006 to 2008. In 2008, they founded Holy Moly Press, where they served as the Owner and later as the CEO/Author. From 2010 to 2014, Dan worked on the National Campaign Team at Wounded Warrior Project. In 2014, they joined The Salvation Army Haven as a Program Manager, overseeing the Alpha Center and the Senior Veteran Program. Since 2015, Dan has been working as a Social Worker at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, focusing on maximizing health and well-being through psychosocial interventions for Veterans, Families, and Caregivers.

Dan Smee obtained their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Interdisciplinary Studies from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo from 2010 to 2012. Prior to that, they attended Cuesta College from 2009 to 2010 and Santa Monica College from 2008 to 2009 for their undergraduate studies. Later, they pursued a Masters in Social Work from the University of Southern California specializing in Military Social Work and Veteran Services, which they completed from 2012 to 2014. Moreover, in 1981, they underwent Paramedic/Healthcare Specialist Training at the Department of the Army's School of Medicine located in Ft. Sam Houston, TX. Furthermore, in 1981 to 1983, they attended El Camino College for undergraduate studies.
