Richard J. Laporte

Director, Operations & Process Development at Woven Orthopedic Technologies

Mr. LaPorte has worked in the medical device and drug/device combination fields for nearly 30 years developing products and processes to manufacture and commercialize technologies across a wide range of specialties including orthopedics, cardiology, algiatry, women’s health, and Ophthalmology.

As a technical professional, Mr. LaPorte contributes comprehensive experience in new product design, process development, product launch, and manufacturing operations in both OEM and CMO organizations. He has successfully introduced technologies incorporating Lean and Six Sigma practices, addressing conditions such as orthopedic pain, coronary and vascular diseases, uterine fibroid tumors, and more.

Prior to joining Woven, Mr. Laporte worked in start-ups and large corporations such as Medtronic and Boston Scientific. Mr. LaPorte also practices the art of Aikido and has taught at Aikido Tekkojuku of Boston and the Harvard Aikido Club.

Mr. LaPorte received both his BS and Master’s degree in plastics engineering from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell.
