Xan Varcoe

Xan Varcoe has a diverse range of work experience in various roles and industries. They have worked as a Machine Learning Content Developer at Woven Planet since 2023. Prior to that, Xan worked as a Machine Learning Engineer and Robot Operator at Hanson Robotics Limited, where they fine-tuned models and made robots more coherent with relevant content. Xan also worked as a Data Science Lecturer at Le Wagon in 2020.

In their earlier career, Xan founded several companies including RundFunk, Urban Explorations, Ukiyo, Unbound, and SBS in 2013. Xan also served as a Senior Data Scientist at Socious from 2022 to 2023, being responsible for data-related decision making and developing various projects such as recommendation engines and BI dashboards.

Xan Varcoe pursued a Master of Arts degree in Archaeology and Anthropology at the University of Oxford from 2010 to 2014. After a short break, Xan then enrolled at the University of Bristol in 2018 to pursue a Master of Science degree in Computer Science, which was completed in 2019. Prior to these higher education achievements, Xan attended Truro College from 2008 to 2010, where they pursued an International Baccalaureate degree, studying English, Biology, Mathematics, Psychology, Anthropology, and Spanish.
