Frances Kraus is a Staff Research Physicist at the Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory, focusing on high-resolution x-ray spectroscopy in plasma diagnostics since July 2014. Frances conducts research related to LaserNetUS short-pulse lasers, large-scale inertial confinement lasers, and ITER-class tokamak devices. Previous experience includes developing x-ray spectroscopy of laser-produced plasmas as a Graduate Research Assistant and experimental work in Hall Thruster experiments. Additionally, Frances serves as a Science Radio DJ at WPRB, hosts a science radio program, and has provided writing mentorship for Chinese undergraduate students in physics. Education includes a PhD and MA in Plasma Physics from Princeton University and a Bachelor's Degree in Physics and Mathematics from The University of Alabama.
