SVP & Chief Solutions Officer at WSO2

Mifan Careem is the Vice President - Solutions Architecture and Head of Healthcare Practice at WSO2.

Based in New York, he heads the customer technical interactions and technical selling at WSO2, leading the global Solutions Architecture team and working closely with customers and internal teams in mapping WSO2 technology to customer domains.

Mifan works with many large customers to define their strategic roadmap and assist with architecture strategy. In 2008, Mifan co-founded and was CTO of Respere, a technology startup providing ICT solutions around e-Government and Emergency Management. He also played the role of consultant spatial and technology architect for many government initiatives in Sri Lanka under the ICT Agency of Sri Lanka.

Mifan is a frequent speaker at events globally, ranging from internal WSO2 conferences to external technical, open source, spatial, humanitarian open source, and business conferences. Mifan was a founding member and board director of the Sahana Software Foundation, a global foundation that created the Open Source Sahana Disaster Management System. Mifan has a bachelor's degree in Information Technology from the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka, an MBA from the Australian Institute of Business, and is a PhD student at the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka focusing on spatial technologies.
