Helmut Houken

Helmut Houken is a seasoned electrical engineering professional with extensive experience spanning over three decades. Currently serving as Technical Director and Associate Director at WSP since January 2016, Helmut previously held the position of Associate Director - Electrical at AECOM from March 2012 to January 2016. Prior to that, Helmut was a Senior Electrical Engineer and Associate at Arup and a Principal Engineer at Opus International Consultants Limited. Helmut's career began at Eskom, where responsibilities included serving as Chief Engineer from 1986 to 2000. Educationally, Helmut obtained a BSc in Electrical Engineering from the University of Cape Town between 1981 and 1984, having also attended Port Elizabeth Technical High.
