James Rowntree Ceng Fice

James Rowntree CEng FICE is an accomplished engineering professional with extensive experience in strategic growth and project leadership. Currently serving as Director of Strategic Growth & Major Projects at WSP since June 2022, James has successfully led key initiatives, including the WSP bid for the Great Grid Upgrade Partnership with National Grid. James has contributed to the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) as an Advisory Board Member and has held significant roles in organizations such as Jacobs and HS2 Ltd, where leadership spanned strategic consulting, digital solutions, and programme delivery. With a strong foundation in civil engineering education from Nottingham Trent University and corporate leadership training from Duke University and the University of California, James has consistently demonstrated expertise in operational performance, business transformation, and infrastructure project management.
