Somnath Mitra

Somnath Mitra is a Technical Director at WSP with over 28 years of experience in bridge and structure design, foundation design, and project management. Somnath has held various roles, including Senior Civil Structural Engineer at Chicago Bridge & Iron and Principal Engineer at Amey, where they managed bridge assessments and designs for the railways and highways. They hold a Master’s degree in Structural Engineering from IIT Delhi and a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Bengal Engineering and Science University. Currently, Somnath leads the bridges team in Guildford, focusing on design, feasibility, and asset management projects for public and private sector clients.
