Tim Whisenant has over 20 years of work experience in the library services industry. Tim began their career at Northrop Grumman Technical Services Inc. in 1996 as an Education Manager, where they facilitated work group planning sessions, supervised education staff, and selected education resources. Tim then moved on to the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 1998 as a Systems/Special Projects Librarian, where they implemented a new integrated library system and conducted training sessions.
In 2002, Tim joined Innovative Interfaces Inc. and held various roles including Customer Sales Consultant and Sales Account Manager. As a Customer Sales Consultant, they worked with existing library customers to expand their system capabilities through on-site meetings, product presentations, and trade conferences. As a Sales Account Manager, they sold enterprise-wide UNIX software solutions and Discovery services to libraries.
From 2010 to 2012, Tim worked at OCLC as a Library Services Consultant. Tim developed sales plans for OCLC services and established relationships with member libraries and partners. Tim then joined Innovative Interfaces in 2013 as a Library Relations Manager, where they identified areas for improvement in organizational processes and products and served as a library advocate.
In 2015, Tim joined Comprise Technologies as a Regional Account Manager, responsible for managing accounts and maintaining customer relationships. Tim then joined WT Cox Information Services in 2017 as the Regional Vice President of Sales for the Western US. In this role, they were responsible for maintaining and developing business relationships with libraries, increasing market share, and securing major accounts.
Throughout their career, Tim has demonstrated strong sales and relationship-building skills, as well as expertise in library systems and services.
Tim Whisenant obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from The University of Texas at Austin, completing their studies between 1976 and 1981. Tim then pursued further education and earned a Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) degree from the same institution in the year 1989.
