Thomas Zimmerman is the Director of Philanthropic Relations at WTVP. Thomas has dedicated their career to helping others and making a difference in the world.

Thomas started their career at Oxfam America in June 2005 as the Deputy Director of Regional Programs. In this role, they were responsible for managing grants and spearheading an agency effort to develop a Grant Management System. Under their leadership, the grant system grew to handle $30 million in over 300 grants around the world. Thomas also streamlined the grant making process, reducing the time it took to process each grant by half. In addition, they helped improve accountability by reducing late reports from 70% of all grants to less than 3%.

In February 2018, Thomas left Oxfam America to take on their current role at WTVP. In their current role, they are responsible for overseeing all philanthropic relations for the organization. Thomas works closely with donors to ensure their gifts are used effectively and efficiently to support WTVP’s mission.

Thomas is a highly skilled and experienced nonprofit professional. Thomas has a proven track record of success in organizational management, budgeting, and strategic planning. Thomas is a thoughtful leader who is always looking for ways to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Thomas is a valuable asset to any organization and we are lucky to have him on our team.

Thomas Zimmerman has a Master of Arts in Development Economics and International Development from The Johns Hopkins University - Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Creighton University.

Their manager is Lesley Matuszak, President & CEO. They work with Jeff Oesch - Producer & Director, Jed Klabunde - Director of Programming, and Julie Sanders - Director of Marketing & Community Relations.
