Melanie Speck is a professor of socioeconomics in households and operations at Hochschule Osnabrück, where Melanie also serves as an academic advisor for the nutrition sciences program and is responsible for the Master's program in sustainable service and nutrition management in cooperation with FH Münster. With extensive experience since April 2012 as a senior researcher and research unit leader at the Wuppertal Institute for Climate, Environment, Energy gGmbH, Melanie additionally held a temporary professorship at Universität Paderborn from November 2020 to August 2021. Prior to their academic career, Melanie worked in quality and sustainability management at PACE Paparazzi Catering & Event GmbH after completing a master's thesis in the same field. Melanie's academic qualifications include a PhD in home economics and nutrition science from Paderborn University, a Master of Science in sustainable service and nutrition management from FH Münster, and a Diplom in Oecotrophologie from FH Münster, along with international experience in biological agriculture and sensory market research.
