Issam Ismaili

Issam Ismaili has extensive work experience in the field of biomanufacturing and cell & gene therapy manufacturing operations. Issam currently serves as the Director of Clinical Manufacturing Ops - Cell & Gene Therapy at WuXi Advanced Therapies since 2020. Prior to this, they worked at Lonza from 2018 to 2020 as part of the Cell & Gene Therapy Manufacturing Operations team.

Before joining Lonza, Ismaili held managerial positions at Catalent Pharma Solutions from 2015 to 2018, where they oversaw biomanufacturing operations. Issam successfully developed and mentored staff, ensured appropriate staffing levels, and directed day-to-day manufacturing and production processes.

Earlier in their career, Ismaili worked at Thera Pharma/Mirus Bio/Marina Biotech as an Associate Consultant/Senior Scientist from 2013 to 2014. Issam also spent several years at Roche/Mirus Bio and Mirus Bio Corporation in various scientific and leadership roles.

Issam Ismaili pursued their education in the field of biology and biotechnology. Issam completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Biology/Biological Sciences, General at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside from 2003 to 2007. Afterward, they went on to obtain their Master of Science degree in Biotechnology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, which they successfully completed from 2011 to 2013.
