Aled Charles

Aled Charles is a seasoned professional in the biopharmaceutical industry with extensive experience in CMC and process development. Currently serving as CMC Director at WuXi Biologics since September 2025, Aled has previously held key roles such as Director of Process Development at Rentschler Biopharma SE, overseeing significant advancements in AAV processes. Prior experience includes responsibilities as CMC Director at Phico Therapeutics Ltd., where Aled managed all CMC activities from drug substance to drug product, and as Group Leader at Evox Therapeutics Ltd., focusing on clinical quality exosome production. Aled's background also encompasses R&D management positions at MedImmune and AstraZeneca, along with earlier roles in purification and process engineering. Aled holds a BSc in Chemistry from the University of Bristol.
