Jianqing Xu

Jianqing Xu is a highly experienced professional in the field of protein design and engineering, currently serving as Senior Director and Head of the Protein Design & Engineering Excellence Center at WuXi Biologics since October 2015. Jianqing is recognized as the inventor of the WuXiBody bispecific antibody platform and leads a team of over 90 scientists, including more than 20 PhD holders. Prior to this role, Jianqing worked as a Scientist at MedImmune from May 2013 to September 2015, where contributions included the development of structural bioinformatics and computational tools to enhance antibody discovery. Jianqing's academic background includes a Ph.D. in Theoretical and Computational Chemistry from the University of Utah and a B.S. in Materials Physics from Jilin University. During a postdoctoral fellowship at The Johns Hopkins University, notable achievements included authoring over 10,000 lines of C++ code for antibody modeling and developing a systematic computational pipeline for antibody engineering.
