Hammad Naqi Khan has extensive work experience in the environmental conservation field. Hammad Naqi served as the Director General for WWF - Pakistan, overseeing various programs and initiatives aimed at protecting the environment. Hammad Naqi also worked with WWF International as the Global Cotton Leader, focusing on market transformation initiatives. Hammad Naqi previously held positions within WWF - Pakistan, including Director Programmes and Director Freshwater Programme, where they led programs related to sustainable water use and protection of ecologically significant areas. Prior to their work with WWF, Khan served as an Assistant Executive Engineer for the Punjab Irrigation and Drainage Authority, where they contributed to the planning, design, and rehabilitation of irrigation facilities.
Hammad Naqi Khan began their education at Divisional Public School in Model Town, Lahore in 1974. Hammad Naqi pursued a Pre-Engineering degree and completed it in 1981. Moving forward, Hammad enrolled in the University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Mechanical Engineering from 1983 to 1988. In 1995, they continued their studies at the University of Birmingham, where they completed a Master of Science (MSc) in Engineering with a focus on Water and Environmental Management. Hammad further expanded their knowledge by attending UNITAR from 2007 to 2008, where they earned a Diploma in International Environmental Law. Finally, in 2013, they attended IMD for a Programme for Executive Development (PED).
