Chaitali Sinha has a diverse work experience in the field of mental health and clinical development. Chaitali started their career in 2015 as a Psychologist at the Observation Home in Dongri, where they worked with children in need of care and protection. During this time, they gained an understanding of the importance of considering context in diagnosis and implementing low-cost, sustainable interventions.
In 2016, Chaitali joined HAQ: Centre for Child Rights as a Psychologist. In this role, they worked as a therapist with survivors of child sexual abuse and children in conflict with the law. Chaitali also trained police officers, judges, counselors, and the DCPU in psychosocial support. Their experience in this position broadened their perspective on intersectional and trauma-informed care.
In 2018, Chaitali took on the role of a Project Manager at the Centre for Mental Health Law and Policy. Here, they worked on the implementation of a randomized controlled trial in the rural district of Mehsana. Their responsibilities included supervising the trial and designing a digital platform for lay counselors to provide mental health services in Gujarati.
Chaitali's career then progressed to Wysa, where they held multiple roles. From 2018 to 2020, they were a Psychologist and a part of the core development team. In 2020, they became the Clinical Content Lead, responsible for developing clinical content for the company. In 2021, they were promoted to Head of Clinical Development and Research, overseeing clinical development projects. Currently, they hold the position of Senior Vice President, Healthcare and Clinical Development, where they lead the healthcare and clinical development efforts at Wysa.
Throughout their work experience, Chaitali has demonstrated a commitment to mental health, intervention-oriented trials, and the development of appropriate and accessible services. Their diverse experiences have shaped their understanding and approach in the field.
Chaitali Sinha has a Master's in Applied Psychology with a specialization in Clinical Psychology from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Applied Psychology (Hons.) from Delhi University. In addition to their degrees, Chaitali has also received certifications in MBPsS from The British Psychological Society, Queer Affirmative Counseling Practice from Mariwala Health Initiative, and Youth Aware of Mental Health Trainer from Karolinska Institutet.
