Embedded Software Developer at Wyvern

Michael Bardwell has a diverse work experience, starting as a Tutor at Tutor Doctor in 2013. Michael then worked as a Roof Crewman at Skyline Group of Companies in 2014. In 2015, they became a Research Assistant at the Engineered Nanomaterials Lab. The following year, Michael became the Electrical Team Lead at Modular Construction Group.

In 2016, they transitioned to research and development roles, working as a Research Assistant at Musilek Labs from 2017 to 2019. During this time, they also worked as an Embedded Software Intern at ENLYZE GmbH in early 2019. Michael further expanded their skills as a Data Science Fellow at Cybera in August 2019.

In 2018, they joined rStrap as an Embedded System Developer, where they worked until November 2019. Michael then moved to GHGSat Inc. in January 2020 as an Embedded Software Developer. At GHGSat, Michael gained experience in designing and deploying feature-rich applications on aerospace hardware, working with Linux fundamentals, and automating cloud processing of company-critical data. Michael also mentored interns, new hires, and internal sub-teams.

In 2023, Michael joined Wyvern as an Embedded Software Developer, where they continue to work.

Michael Bardwell completed their undergraduate education at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Alberta, from 2012 to 2016, with a degree in Physics Nanoengineering. Afterward, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Software Engineering and Intelligent Systems at the same institution, which they completed from 2017 to 2019. In addition to their formal education, Michael has obtained several certifications, including "Converter Control" and "Converter Circuits" from Coursera, as well as "Fundamentals of Engineering Electrical and Computer" from NCEES, all obtained in 2017. Michael also completed a certification in "Introduction to Power Electronics" from Coursera in 2017.
