Elsa Deruer

Research Scientist in Medicinal Chemistry at X-Chem

Elsa Deruer has a diverse work experience in the field of Medicinal Chemistry. Elsa is currently working as a Research Scientist in Medicinal Chemistry at X-Chem, Inc. since August 2021. Before that, they held the same role at IntelliSyn R&D starting from August 2019.

Prior to their industry experience, Elsa worked at UQAM | Université du Québec à Montréal from 2015 to 2019. During their time there, they held multiple roles including being a UQAM representative on promotional advertising materials and videos in Montréal, a member of the student's doctoral program committee in chemistry, a Teaching Assistant in Organic Chemistry, and an Internship Supervisor in the Pr. S. Canesi's laboratory.

Earlier in their career, Elsa worked as a Research Student at Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1 where they completed their MSc and BSc degrees. Their research projects involved topics such as thiazolylidene-catalyzed cleavage of alpha-hydroxy ketones and preparation of bio-based surfactants.

Overall, Elsa Deruer has a strong background in Medicinal Chemistry with experience in both industry and academic settings.

Elsa Deruer completed their education history as follows:

From 2015 to 2019, they attended UQAM | Université du Québec à Montréal and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD degree in Organic Chemistry.

Prior to that, from 2012 to 2015, they studied at Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1 and received a Master's degree in Organic Chemistry.

Their undergraduate studies took place at Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1 as well, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from 2009 to 2012.

Before beginning their higher education, Elsa attended Lycée La Pléïade - Pont-de-Chéruy from 2006 to 2009 and completed their Baccalauréat in Sciences Biologiques.
