Carlos Gibaja Palacios

Carlos Gibaja Palacios is an experienced professional in the renewable energy sector, currently serving as Energy Storage Development Manager at X-ELIO since March 2023, where projects under management include over 3 GW of BESS projects in various countries. Prior to this role, Carlos worked at Zabala Innovation Spain as a Senior Innovation Strategy Consultant, focusing on large-scale renewable energy projects. Earlier experiences include co-founding Fourteen Energies S.L. as CTO, conducting research as a PhD candidate at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, and contributing as a Graduate Research Associate at IMDEA Nanociencia. Carlos holds a PhD in Applied Chemistry, a Master’s in Chemical Engineering, and a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and related institutions.
