Andre Schiele

Andre Schiele is a distinguished expert in robotics, currently serving as the Director and co-founder of X Laboratory since April 2019, where focus is on Robotics Engineering and R&D acceleration. As an Associate Professor at Technische Universiteit Delft since 2010, Schiele specializes in telerobotics and advanced mechatronics, leading projects in space robotics and interactive robotics. Schiele’s previous experience includes a significant role as Head and Principal Investigator at the ESA Telerobotics Laboratory from 2002 to 2016, where contributions were made to space robotics and mechatronics for Mars and Mercury exploration. Additionally, Schiele had a postdoctoral position at DLR, specializing in teleoperation exoskeletons. Schiele holds a Ph.D. in Robotics with a focus on wearable robots, awarded cum laude from Delft University of Technology.
