Software Engineer at X, the moonshot factory

Andres Soto's work experience begins with their current role as a Software Engineer at X, the moonshot factory. Andres joined the company in September 2022 and is working on the Tapestry project, which focuses on grid decarbonization and the electrification of various sectors.

Prior to this, Andres worked at Google from 2018 to 2022. Andres initially joined as a Software Engineer - Engineering Resident in March 2018 and completed a one-year program that trained him to become a tech leader. During this program, Andres rotated between the Geo and Automatic Speech Recognition teams. After completing the program, they continued working at Google as a regular Software Engineer from February 2019 to September 2022.

Before joining Google, Andres worked as a Freelance Software Engineer at GenTrust from September to December 2017. Andres also gained teaching experience at Columbia University in the City of New York, where they served as a Teaching Assistant for various mathematics courses from 2015 to 2017. Additionally, they worked as an Undergraduate Jupyter Notebook Developer for a graduate-level Numerical Methods course from September to December 2016.

Andres also has internship experience. Andres worked as a Sales and Trading Analyst Intern at Bank of America Merrill Lynch from June to August 2016. Prior to that, they interned as a Yield Analytics Mobile Tech Intern at AOL from January to May 2016.

Lastly, Andres began their professional career as an Analyst at GenTrust from May to August 2015.

Andres Soto attended Columbia University from 2013 to 2017, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Applied Mathematics. After completing their degree, they pursued further education by obtaining several certifications. In October and November 2017, they completed the courses "Algorithmic Toolbox" and "Neural Networks and Deep Learning" respectively, both offered by Coursera. In January 2018, they obtained certifications in "Algorithms on Graphs," "Data Structures," and "Structuring Machine Learning Projects," all from Coursera as well.
