Antonio Papania-Davis

Project Lead at X, the moonshot factory

Antonio Papania-Davis has a diverse work experience in various companies and roles. Antonio started their career in 2010 as a Research Assistant at Hanuman Medical LLC, where they assisted in medical device development and performed laboratory work. From 2010 to 2013, Antonio worked as a Collaborating Artist and Exhibit Designer at Exploratorium.

In 2013, they joined Google as a Prototyping Technician in the [x] Design Kitchen. Antonio contributed to ideation and testing of new product prototypes, built prototypes and testing apparatus, and modeled parts in Solidworks.

Antonio continued their internship at Google in 2014, this time in the [x] Design Kitchen as an Industrial Design Intern. Antonio focused on sketching, model-making, and research to develop a potential new Google [x] project.

In 2015, Antonio interned at Google again, this time as an Industrial Design Intern in the Rapid Evaluation team. Antonio engaged in technical due diligence, market research, and visualization of concept projects. Antonio also created a streamlined process for identifying and vetting potential [x] projects.

Alongside their internships, Antonio also worked as an Energy Studio Teaching Assistant at Rhode Island School of Design in 2015 and as a NASA Studio Teaching Assistant in 2016, where they assisted in teaching courses on Mars Assent Vehicle design and energy-related topics.

Since 2016, Antonio has been working at X, the moonshot factory. Antonio started as a Designer/Strategist and Rapid Evaluator through Adecco, then progressed to the role of Project Lead in April 2021.

Antonio Papania-Davis pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Visual Arts with a concentration in Physics from Oberlin College. This program commenced in 2005 and was successfully completed in 2009.
