Astro Teller

Astro Teller serves as Captain of Moonshots at X, the moonshot factory, since June 2010, focusing on fostering innovative solutions through collaborative efforts. Additionally, Astro has been Director and Chief Executive Officer at Cerebellum Capital, Inc., a hedge fund management firm utilizing statistical machine learning for investment strategies, since December 2007. Previously, Astro co-founded and led BodyMedia, a pioneer in wearable body monitoring, until its acquisition by Jawbone in 2013. Leadership roles also include Chairman and CEO at Zivio Technologies, an intellectual property holding company, and service on the Board of Directors for the Pittsburgh Technology Council. Astro's career began with positions such as CEO at SANDbOX Advanced Development and as a Fellow at the Fannie & John Hertz Foundation. Educational credentials include a PhD in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University and both a BS and MS in Computer Science from Stanford University.
