Hardware Engineer at X, the moonshot factory

Louis-Pierre Fortin began their work experience as an Intern in Mechanical Engineering at Simard Suspensions in April 2012 and continued until August 2012. Louis-Pierre then joined BOMBARDIER as an Intern Mechanical Engineer from August 2012 to December 2012. Louis-Pierre Fortin later worked at Google as a Mechanical Engineer for Aircraft Prototyping from June 2015 to August 2017. Louis-Pierre'srole at Google involved designing devices and specializing in breaking parts on the ground before they break in the air. Following that, they joined Kinova as a Robotics Engineer from August 2017 to January 2021. During their time at Kinova, they focused on robotics engineering. In 2022, Louis-Pierre Fortin became a Senior Mechatronics Engineer at Amazon, where they worked until January 2023, prototyping a sustainable appliance and managing CAD modeling for bench prototypes. Currently, they are employed as a Hardware Engineer at X, the moonshot factory, starting in January 2023.

Louis-Pierre Fortin completed their education in various institutions. Louis-Pierre began their academic journey at Wilbrod-Beher in 2006, where they earned a Technical Diploma in Auto Mechanic in 2007. Following this, they attended Dawson College from 2008 to 2011, obtaining a degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, with a focus on Mechanical Engineering/Mechanical Technology/Technician.

In 2011, Louis-Pierre Fortin enrolled at The University of British Columbia, where they pursued a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) in Mechanical Engineering. Louis-Pierre successfully completed this program in 2015.

Subsequently, in 2017, Louis-Pierre Fortin attended Stanford University for a brief period and earned a certificate in Business - Innovation & Entrepreneurship.
