Richard Brasher

Richard Brasher, a British national, brings to the Supervisory Board of X5 Retail Group N.V. 35 years in international retail and management positions at Tesco and Pick n Pay - one of the largest multiformat retailers in emerging markets - as well as on the boards of directors of a number of retail and FMCG companies. Richard joined Tesco in 1986 and served as a director on the Tesco main board from 2004 to 2012. As CEO of Pick n Pay South Africa from 2013 – 2021, Richard led the plan to restore the business to sustainable long-term growth. Richard holds a BSc Hons degree in Food Technology from Reading University.​
