Arno Candel

Arno Candel is a highly experienced technology professional currently serving as a Member of Technical Staff at xAI since October 2025. Prior to this role, Arno held the position of Chief Technology Officer at H2O.ai from December 2013 to October 2025, where leadership contributed to the development of three major revenue-generating enterprise platforms for predictive and generative AI, achieving over 50,000 commits on GitHub. Arno's career includes being the first technical hire at Skytree, where substantial contributions included a collaborative filtering algorithm that significantly outperformed existing solutions, and a role as Staff Scientist at Stanford University's SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory, focusing on high-performance simulations for particle accelerators.
