Jeffrey Zhang

Jeffrey Zhang is a member of the technical staff at xAI since December 2024. Previously, Jeffrey co-founded and served as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Scientific Officer at Revery.AI from October 2020 to November 2024, focusing on creating inclusive technology for online shopping. Prior experience includes a research role at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign under Prof. David Forsyth, an applied scientist position at Amazon Web Services, and an NLP researcher role at Tencent America. Jeffrey has also conducted research at the University of California, Berkeley, on heart disease diagnosis and image segmentation for human dynamical models. Earlier internships involved computer vision algorithms at Vercury Inc. and digital watermarking research. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Computer Vision from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley, and a participation in Y Combinator's S21 program.
