Zachary Vernon

Zachary Vernon is the Head of Hardware at Xanadu. Zachary was previously a visiting PhD student at Università degli studi di Pavia from September 2016 to December 2016, where they worked on the theory of nonlinear quantum optics in microresonators. Vernon was also a teacher at The Abelard School from October 2014 to June 2016, where they taught a small class of gifted high school students calculus. Vernon received their PhD in physics from the University of Toronto in August 2017. Zachary's doctoral work was in quantum photonics theory, with a special focus on generation and control of quantum states of light using microresonators. Zachary was also a research assistant at the Center for Free-Electron Laser Science Hamburg from September 2010 to August 2011.

Zachary Vernon completed a PhD in Physics at the University of Toronto. Zachary was a visiting graduate student at Università di Pavia and an exchange student at the University of Hamburg. Zachary completed a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Physics at the University of Toronto. Zachary attended high school at Forest Hill Collegiate Institute.

They are on a team with Nathan Killoran - Head of Software, Rafal Janik - Head of Product. Zachary Vernon reports to Christian Weedbrook, Founder & CEO.
