James Patterson

James Patterson's work experience includes founding and heading discovery research at Xap Therapeutics, where they focused on programming cells to treat diseases using genome editing and synthetic biology. Prior to that, they founded Auxolytic and worked as a post-doctoral research associate at The Francis Crick Institute. James also completed their PhD in computational and cell biology at The Francis Crick Institute. Additionally, they have worked as a researcher at the Cambridge Stem Cell Institute, Whitehead Institute, The Gurdon Institute, and the University of Zurich.

James Patterson completed their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Biochemistry and Medicine at the University of Cambridge from 2010 to 2013. James then pursued a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree at UCL from 2013 to 2019. During their studies, from 2014 to 2018, they also obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Computational and Cell biology from The Francis Crick Institute. In May 2021, James Patterson received a certification in Strategic R&D Management from the INSEAD Executive Education program.
