Senior Research Associate at Xap Therapeutics

Khashayar Khoshrou has a diverse work experience in the scientific research field. Khashayar is currently working as a Senior Research Associate at Xap Therapeutics since March 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Freeline from September 2020 to January 2022, where they served as a Research Assistant in the Cell Biology team. In this role, they were responsible for preclinical candidate selection and validation of novel AAV-based gene therapy using various cell biology techniques. Khashayar also worked on establishing human iPSC cultures for in-vitro disease modeling and differentiating iPSC cells for Gaucher Disease studies.

Before joining Freeline, Khashayar worked at Autolus Ltd. as a Research Associate in Synthetic Biology from May 2018 to February 2020. Khashayar also briefly worked as a Tutor at Bright Young Things Tuition from February 2018 to May 2018.

Khashayar's earlier experiences include working at Barts Cancer Institute, where they completed an MSc Lab Project from April 2017 to August 2017 and a BSc Lab Project from July 2015 to November 2015. During their time at Barts Cancer Institute, they conducted research on the link between c-Met trafficking and autophagy in different cell lines and performed functional assays related to cell migration, invasion, and proliferation.

Additionally, Khashayar has worked as a Workshop Assistant and Office Assistant at Mirageair in April 2011.

Khashayar Khoshrou completed their education in a chronological manner. Khashayar began by attending Holmer Green Senior School from 2006 to 2013, where they pursued their GCSEs and A-Levels. Subsequently, they enrolled in Queen Mary University of London from 2013 to 2016, earning a Bachelor's Degree with a field of study in Biomedical Sciences. Lastly, they pursued a Master's Degree at Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry from 2016 to 2017, specializing in MSc Cancer & Molecular and Cellular Biology.
