Martin Černý

Martin Černý has a diverse work experience in various roles related to the built environment and BIM. Martin is currently working as a Director at XBIM LTD. Martin also serves as an Expert for OpenBIM Standards at the Czech Standardization Agency and a Member of TC442 WG2 at the European Committee for Standardization, where they contribute to the development of standards and specifications for asset data handling and semantics in the construction industry.

In the past, Martin worked as a Senior Research Assistant at Northumbria University, focusing on the development of new functionality for the xBIM Toolkit and utilizing open standards to improve communication in the construction industry. Martin was also a Junior Researcher at the AdMaS Centre / EGAR research group and a PhD Student at Brno University of Technology, where they gained research experience. Additionally, they worked as a Research Assistant at Northumbria University, where they contributed to the development of the web application iCIM and provided technical support for the National BIM Library.

Martin Černý's education history is as follows:

From 2004 to 2007, they attended Brno University of Technology and obtained a Bachelor's degree in Land surveying, site surveying, and cartography.

Martin then continued their education at the same university from 2007 to 2009 and obtained a Master's degree in Land surveying, GIS, and cartography.

In 2009, Martin joined Masaryk University Brno to pursue studies in Computer Systems and Data Processing. The duration of this program is not specified.

During the same year, from 2009 to 2013, they enrolled in Brno University of Technology again and completed a PhD program in GIS Analysis in Building Information Models.
