Gao Ting

CMC director at Xbiome

Gao Ting has held various positions in the biotechnology industry since 2008. In 2008, they were a Research Associate at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, where they were in charge of an ITF project on lactic acid production from renewable carbon sources by genetic engineered Bacillus subtilis. Gao also studied the production of Astaxanthin by Phaffia Rhodozyma using brewed green tea leaf as carbon source. In 2011, they were a Research Associate at the Hong Kong Institute of Biotechnology, where they were in charge of an ITF project on bioprocess development using multiple microfermentor and dielectric spectroscopy analysis. Gao successfully improved the production of lactic acid from 70 g/L to 180 g/L, which is higher than the productivity and production level of current microbial industrial processes. From 2012 to 2018, Gao Ting was the R&D Manager at GreenPak Biotech Limited, where they led R&D for internal and collaborative projects, managed all projects to meet company goals, and supervised the progress of projects and solved problems. From 2018 to 2019, they were the Technical Manager at Nano and Advanced Materials Institute Ltd., where they incubated new technologies related to healthcare applications, lead a professional R&D team to implement the related projects, and built clients' accounts and managed the strategic partnership. Finally, they were the CMC Director at Xbiome from 2019 to present, where they work closely with cross-functional directors and managers, and at the corporate level to identify issues that may impact project milestone or business operations, and recommends appropriate action to be taken. Gao also leads CMC development of FMT capsule (gut microbiota) and microecologics at different stages of process development, formulation development, clinical manufacturing, product characterization and process validation, and sets up Quality Management System as well as monitoring and optimizing the system.

Gao Ting obtained a Bachelor's degree in Ecology from Si Chuan University between 1998 and 2002. Gao then continued their studies at Si Chuan University and obtained a Master's degree in Microbiology from 2002 to 2005. Finally, Gao Ting earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biotechnology from The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2009.
