Alan Harbitter

Advisory Board Member at XBOSoft

Alan Harbitter joins XBOSoft’s Advisory board with over 30 years experience in IT services. In 1985, he co-founded an information technology services company, PEC Solutions Inc., and was jointly responsible for its growth to a publicly traded company with over 1700 employees. He served as Chief Technology Officer and Chief Operating Officer of that company until its sale in 2005.

Dr. Harbitter received his Bachelor, Master, and Doctoral degrees in computer science from Cornell, the University of Maryland, and George Mason University (GMU), respectively. At GMU, his research concerned information security and, specifically, authentication in large and wireless networks.

Dr. Harbitter currently serves as the Board Treasurer of the Arc of Northern Virginia—an advocacy organization for the intellectually and developmentally disabled. He is also past board president and current board member of the Medical Care for Children Partnership (MCCP) Foundation. MCCP is a unique partnership between the Fairfax County government, the medical community, and private contributors to provide health care for the children of working poor families in Fairfax County, VA.
