Somhairle Laird is a highly experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer currently working at XCO2 since March 2024. Prior experience includes a long tenure at Atelier Ten from October 2017 to March 2024, where Somhairle progressed through roles from Graduate Mechanical Engineer to Senior Mechanical Engineer. Previous positions include Manager at GC-Kollection from December 2016 to April 2017, and Assistant Engineer at Balfour Beatty Infrastructure Inc. for a six-month period in 2016, focused on the AWPR project in Aberdeen, Scotland. Somhairle holds a Bachelor’s Degree of Engineering (hons) in Architectural Engineering from Heriot-Watt University, completed in 2015, and Scottish Highers from Cults Academy, Aberdeen, attained in 2010.
