Julian de Ruiter

Julian de Ruiter is a seasoned data and AI engineering professional with extensive experience in developing and implementing advanced data platforms and MLOps solutions across various industries. Currently serving as the Data & AI engineering lead at Xebia and Data & AI platform architect at UMC Utrecht, Julian has a proven track record in designing scalable data architectures, enhancing AI applications, and adopting best practices in MLOps. Past roles include tech lead positions at ABN AMRO Bank and Adevinta, where Julian was instrumental in optimizing data workflows and supporting Kubernetes-native platforms. Additionally, Julian has contributed to the field as an author of 'Data Pipelines with Apache Airflow' and a former PhD student specializing in molecular pathology. Educational qualifications include a postgraduate degree in Computational Biology and an MSc in Computer Science with a focus on bioinformatics from Delft University of Technology.
