Roel Bertens

Roel Bertens is a seasoned professional in the field of data science and artificial intelligence, currently serving as the Data & AI Tech Lead at Xebia since June 2017, focusing on building data products and teams. Previously, Roel held various positions, including Lead Data Scientist at Transactie Monitoring Nederland, where multiple end-to-end use cases for anti-money laundering were delivered and a feature catalog for standardization was introduced. As Data Team Lead at Van Caem Klerks Group, Roel co-created a three-year data strategy driving digital transformation. At Ahold Delhaize, contributions included developing an in-house capability for personalized customer recommendations, resulting in increased revenue. Roel's other notable roles include positions at ING, The HEINEKEN Company, Unilever, StackState, International Flavors & Fragrances, and Tele2 Nederland, showcasing extensive expertise across diverse data-centric environments.
