Herman Van de Straete is an experienced professional in digital printing technology, currently serving as the Director of Digital Print Technology at Xeikon since April 2001. In this role, Herman leads the R&D Digital Printing Processes, Test Center, and Mechatronics divisions, focusing on advancements in both Dry Toner Electrophotography and Inkjet technologies. Previously, as Technology Manager for the Digital Process & Test Center, Herman oversaw the R&D division and developed digital printing processes. Herman has also led fundamental research in digital printing processes and mechanics, shaping the design and development of new equipment aimed at fulfilling customer needs. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Mechanical Engineering from KU Leuven and a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
