Richard Montgomery

Richard Montgomery is a seasoned professional in Nuclear Criticality Safety with extensive experience spanning several decades. Currently serving as a Senior Nuclear Criticality Safety Engineer at X-energy since February 2021, Montgomery has also held senior roles in various organizations, including the Uranium Processing Facility and Technical Field Engineering, LLC. As the Manager of Nuclear Criticality Safety at Nuclear Fuel Services, responsibilities included oversight of HEU processes and integrated safety analysis. Previous roles at AREVA NP, Westinghouse Electric Company, and Sargent & Lundy further established expertise in regulatory affairs, radiation protection, and safety analysis in nuclear environments. Richard Montgomery holds a Master's degree in Nuclear Engineering from Iowa State University and a Bachelor's degree in Physics and Engineering Science from the University of Michigan.
