Peter Knauer

Peter Knauer has a strong background in the pharmaceutical industry, with extensive experience in CMC (chemistry, manufacturing, and controls) leadership roles. Peter began their career at Genentech in 1991 as an Engineer and later served as a Group Leader in Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Technical Services. In 2001, they joined BTG and held various positions, including Director of Manufacturing and Head of Operations. From 2011 to 2015, they worked at Jade Therapeutics as a Vice President of CMC and at Sage BioPartners as a Managing Partner and Co-Founder, providing strategic and tactical advice in areas such as operations and quality. Peter also served as a Board Member at BioUtah and held the position of Chief Operating Officer, overseeing education/training, regulatory/compliance, administration, and finance. In 2014, they joined Symic Biomedical as a VP of Operations/Quality and in 2015, they became the VP of CMC at Xeris Pharmaceuticals, Inc., leading commercialization efforts in NDA/510(k) stage of development. Overall, Peter Knauer has demonstrated expertise in CMC, quality, compliance, and QMS (quality management system) projects in the biopharmaceutical industry.

Peter Knauer completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Materials Science Engineering from the University of Utah from 1983 to 1990. Later, from 1995 to 2000, they pursued their Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from San Francisco State University.
