Rob Maher

Rob Maher is a senior technology executive with extensive experience in engineering leadership and transformation strategies. Currently serving as Executive General Manager at Xero since April 2022, Rob oversees a team of 300 engineers, focusing on engineering strategy and platform scaling to align with corporate priorities. Previous roles include General Manager Engineering covering areas such as Customer Activation and Sales & Spend, where significant advancements in product-led growth and modernization of core products were achieved. Prior to Xero, Rob held the position of Head of Cloud & Technology Transformation at ANZ, leading the enterprise cloud strategy and establishing a Cloud Engineering Centre of Excellence. Rob Maher also ran a successful consulting business for eight years, providing specialized advice and training across various industries and regions including New Zealand, Australia, the USA, and Europe. Early career experience includes key roles at organizations such as IAG and ASB, focusing on Agile development and middleware solutions.
