Tianwei Liu has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. In 2008, they worked as a Web Application Developer at 3S-Comaea Pte Ltd, where they developed a console for marketers and implemented a mail engine for automation. In 2009, they joined Plastic Logic as a Quality Assurance Engineer, where they designed test plans, developed automated testing, and assisted with user testing and market research. During the same year, they were also an Executive Member at the National University of Singapore Entrepreneurs Association, organizing events and networking with entrepreneurs in Silicon Valley. In 2011, Tianwei interned as a Software Engineering Intern at WIMM Labs, assisting with shipping and designing an automated testing system. Tianwei continued working at WIMM Labs in 2012 as a Developer Relations Engineer. From 2012 to 2015, they joined Amazon Lab126 as a Software Development Engineer, working on software development projects. In 2015, Tianwei became the CEO and Co-founder of Xfers, and in 2020, they co-founded StraitsX. Later in 2020, they also took on the role of Group Deputy CEO at FAZZ Financial Group. Overall, Tianwei Liu has held various leadership and technical roles throughout their career, showcasing their expertise in software development, entrepreneurship, and financial services.

Tianwei Liu's education history began in 2006 when they enrolled at the National University of Singapore. They pursued a degree in Computer and Electronic Engineering and graduated with Honours in 2010. In 2009, Tianwei participated in the NUS Overseas Colleges program, specifically the NOC Silicon Valley, Batch 16, where they studied Management Sciences & Engineering. Tianwei also attended Stanford University from 2009 to 2010, focusing on SCPD Technology Entrepreneurship. In 2015, Tianwei co-founded Xfers, a startup, through the Y Combinator program.
