Gavin Oliver

Gavin Oliver is an experienced professional in data science and bioinformatics, currently serving as the Associate Director of Data Science and Bioinformatics at xilis since February 2023. Prior to this, Gavin held various prestigious positions at Mayo Clinic from September 2012 to February 2023, including Associate Director of the Bioinformatics Center for Individualized Medicine and Principal Bioinformatician, leading core initiatives and managing multidisciplinary projects in bioinformatics. Gavin's earlier experience includes significant roles at Almac Diagnostics, where responsibilities encompassed leading the bioinformatics team and managing large-scale genomic datasets, as well as a tenure at Randox as a Clinical Systems Specialist. Gavin holds a PhD from the University of Sunderland, an MSc in Bioinformatics from Ulster University, and a BSc in Biomedical Sciences, complemented by a Diploma in Industrial Studies in Physiological Research from the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine.
