Doug Hogg

Doug Hogg has extensive work experience in the telecommunications industry. Doug started their career as a Senior Telephone Technician at Telecom New Zealand in 1981, where they gained experience in analog and digital telephone systems and provided support for servers, printers, and networks. After leaving Telecom New Zealand in 1990, Doug worked as a Network Engineer at Cray Communications until 1995. Doug then joined Providence Health Systems as a Network Designer from 1997 to 1998. From 1999 to 2000, Doug worked as a Sales Engineer at Ameritech. In 2000, they joined World Wide Packets as a Sr. Systems Consulting Engineer, where they played a key role in multiple successful international projects and provided technical support for FTTx projects. In 2008, Doug joined Ciena as a Senior Systems Engineer, working in the areas of carrier Ethernet, optical networking, and service design. During their time at Ciena, they also worked on obtaining their CISSP certification. Most recently, Doug has been working as a Senior Technical Sales Engineer at XKL, LLC since 2018. In this role, they support the sales organization, consults with customers to determine the best solutions to meet their needs, and works with engineering to align product roadmaps with customer requirements.

Doug Hogg began their education at Rangitikei College in 1977, where they did not pursue a specific degree or field of study. Doug attended this institution until 1981.

In 1991, Doug enrolled at Wellington Polytechnical Institute and completed a Certificate in Telecommunications Technology/Technician. Doug completed this program in 1994.

As for additional certifications, Doug obtained a certification in Cybersecurity for IT Professionals from LinkedIn in July 2017.
