Matt Galligan

Matt Galligan is the co-founder and CEO of XMTP. Prior to XMTP, Matt served as the VP of Design at Earnest Research from September 2019 to April 2021. In this role, Matt was responsible for leading the design team and working with the engineering team to create and iterate on product features. Prior to Earnest Research, Matt was the co-founder and CEO of Interchange, a crypto asset management company that was acquired by Kraken in July 2019. Matt also served as the VP of Product Design at Postmates from December 2016 to April 2017.

Before Postmates, Matt was the co-founder and Chief Strategy Officer at SimpleGeo, a company that helps businesses build better products by filling the gap between ideas and execution. SimpleGeo was acquired by AOL in August 2008. After the acquisition, Matt served as the Director of User Experience for AOL's People Networks division. In July 2015, Matt left AOL to pursue product design consulting under their own company.

In December 2011, Matt co-founded Circa News, a news app designed for the mobile generation that delivers bite-sized pieces of information that are easy to consume on the go. Circa News was acquired by Sinclair Broadcast Group in July 2015. Prior to Circa News, Matt was the co-founder and CEO of Socialthing, Inc., a social networking company that was acquired by AOL in August 2008.

Before becoming an entrepreneur, Matt worked as a web designer at Network Solutions from May 2006 to May 2007.

Matt Galligan holds a BS in International Business from Illinois College and has taken Graphic Design courses at Lincoln Land Community College in the Fine Arts field.
