Finally, from 2009 to 2008, they worked at the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) and KRS - Kwajalein Range Services, LLC as a Mechanical Engineer Intern, providing assistance to the reliability and maintainability (R&M) and rotors, systems, and vibrations groups, learning R&M analysis and conducting a feasibility study for changing grease applications on V-22 aircraft, and applying vibration monitoring equipment to CH-53E aircraft and analyzing results for inclusion in ongoing study.

Jeff Lewis has a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from North Carolina State University, which they obtained between 2008 and 2010. Prior to this, they completed a 2+2 program with NCSU at Craven Community College between 2006 and 2008. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications from Code School, including JavaScript Road Trip Part 2, JavaScript Road Trip Part 3, Real-time Web with Node.js, Ruby Bits, and Try Ruby.
