Edward also served as the Executive Director of the Massachusetts Gaming Commission from January 2016 to January 2020. Edward has also held significant positions in the Massachusetts Attorney General's Office. Edward served as the First Assistant Attorney General from December 2009 to July 2014. Prior to that, they held the role of Deputy First Assistant Attorney General from 2007 to 2009.

Edward's career began in the Middlesex District Attorney's Office, where they served as a Deputy Second Assistant District Attorney from 2006 to 2007 and an Assistant District Attorney from 1992 to 2006.

Later, in 2011 to 2012, they attended the Questrom School of Business at Boston University to obtain a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.).
